Christmas Pudding
Ingredients
- 9 oz butter
- 9 oz brown sugar
- 15 oz flour
- 1 1/2 pounds sultanas
- 1 1/2 pounds currants
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons milk
- 6 eggs
- pinch salt
Method
- Cream butter and sugar
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Add sifted flour, salt and mixed spice
- Dissolve soda in the milk, and mix in
- Stir in fruit
- Spoon into a pudding basin
- Put into a saucepan, with boiling water to 3/4 of the way up the sides of the basin
- Boil for 3 hours, keeping the water topped up
