Churros

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

  1. Heat water, sugar, butter and salt until boiling
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Add flour all at once, stirring well until mixture leaves the side of the pot
  4. Stir in eggs and vanilla beaten together
  5. Put into an icing bag with a large star a nozzle
  6. Pipe sections about 4 inches long into hot oil
  7. Cook until golden brown
  8. Drain on paper towels
  9. Sprinkle with sugar, with cinnamon if liked
