Barbeque Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500g mince
  • 1 egg
  • 3-4 spring onions, trimmed and finely chopped
  • ¼ c chopped parsley, or 1 teaspoon of mixed dried herbs
  • 4 large gherkins, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup fresh wholemeal breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup tomato or barbecue sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoons of oil

Method

  1. Combine mince, egg, spring onion, parsley, gherkins, breadcrumbs, sauce, salt and pepper; mix well
  2. Mould into 8 patties with wet hands; chill before cooking if time permits
  3. Barbecue or grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until well browned and cooked

Notes

Serve in buns with your favourite toppings. Serves 4-6
