Scroggin Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 500g butter
  • 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 2 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • optional additions (eg dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, Ginger)

Method

  1. Melt butter
  2. Add golden syrup, sugar, flours, coconut and baking powder
  3. Mix, then add optional additions
  4. Press into a large oven tray lined with baking paper
  5. Bake at 180 degrees Celcius for about 20 minutes

Notes

Half the recipe fills a slice tin.
