Smoked Fish Pie

Ingredients

  • 60g butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 550g smoked fish, flaked
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 eggs, hardboiled and chopped
  • 5 medium kumara, peeled, boiled and mashed
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 20g butter
  • 1/2 cup milk, warm
  • salt & pepper

Method

  1. Make a white sauce with the butter, flour and milk
  2. Add the smoked fish, parsley and egg, and pour into an ovenproof dish
  3. Mash the kumara with the garlic, ginger, butter, warm milk, and s&p, then put on top of the fish mixture
  4. Bake at 180degC for about 20 minutes
