Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa
  • 55g butter
  • 150mL milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 450mL milk.

Method

  1. Mix the first four dry ingredients together.
  2. Gently melt the butter in the first measure of milk; add vanilla essence and stir into the dry ingredients
  3. Pour the batter into a greased deep 1.5 litre dish (eg casserole dish).
  4. Mix together brown sugar and remaining cocoa and sprinkle over the top of the pudding.
  5. Gently pour over the second measure of milk.
  6. Bake for about an hour at 350deg°C
